Evangelism Program
Despite the strange times we are living in, God is still working in the lives of students in Bulgaria, including the international students.
During this time when it is increasingly hard for the staff workers to meet new students, it has been encouraging to see students step up and express a desire to learn how to share their faith more effectively. With that goal in mind, this semester the international student groups in Sofia and Varna joined together for an evangelism training program.
In Sofia the students met in person, and the group from Varna met online, but both groups went through the same material together and were able to encourage and pray for each other. They gathered every two weeks to talk about different topics related to evangelism, such as being able to answer difficult questions, leading Bible studies with their seeking friends, and living lives that reflect the gospel. They did Bible studies on passages related to evangelism and tried to learn what evangelism does and doesn’t mean, practically. Additionally, they committed to praying for and reaching out to specific friends throughout the semester. It has been encouraging to see the students taking risks to share their faith and getting opportunities to practice what they have been learning with their friends and family.
Our prayer is that the excitement the students now have for evangelism is something that will stay with them for their whole lives, and that God would be using them to build his kingdom in their home countries, or wherever they end up!
