From February 22nd to 24th, BCSU celebrated its 25th birthday with 3 generations of students! The theme of the conference was "Cloud Witnesses" and the meeting hall was filled with clouds and pictures of BCSU throughout the years. There were three speakers for this year’s forum: three of BCSU’s national directors over the years - Trif Trifonov, Darena Dimitrova and Craig Weyrens. The speakers helped students study the great passage about faith - Hebrews 11:1-12:2. The program had 4 seminars on issues significant to the life of students, including premarital relationships, lasting habits for change, emotional intelligence, and the big picture in the Bible. In the afternoon, students had fun with an unforgettable game of puzzles and challenges throughout the hotel, which depicted the stages of Christian life. Before each session, the student groups in the country gave presentations about their groups and shared testimonies of God’s work in their lives.
The participants were excited to immerse themselves in BCSU’s history with a large chronological exhibition of photos, a fun game and a presentation of the significant moments in BCSU’s 25 years. And what is a birthday without laughter? Some of the participants prepared a sketch about the similarities and differences in the different student generations of BCSU! The celebration ended with video greetings from various student movements from Europe and America, a panel of 3-generation of students and a huge cake! The 25th birthday of BCSU was a great occasion to recall God's goodness and faithfulness over the years. God continues to work in, through and among students in Bulgaria!
God's Word reminded us that we are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses, but at the same time invited us to be part of this cloud. We believe and pray that what we have heard and experienced will really help us live as a cloud of witnesses!
